Ryanair cancels flights to Greek islands over dispute
Budget airline Ryanair has announced that it is reducing its summer schedule to Rhodes and Kos, after a series of clashes with the islands’ authorities.
A total of 82 flights a week will be cancelled a month before the end of the season. Flights to Kos will stop on 2 October on 11 routes to Kos and 13 to Rhodes.
The move comes after the low-cost carrier argued that the islands were “reneging” on a promotion agreement. Read more »

One in three Brits have confessed that they would be less likely to visit Greece because of the economic crisis which the country is currently experiencing.
According to a survey by Explore Research, 32 per cent of people would feel less comfortable visiting Greece as a result of the financial crisis. However, 36 per cent of people said that recent events would make “no difference” to their intentions. Read more »
Hotel prices rise around the world, but bargains are out there
Finding a good deal on a holiday is getting harder, as research has found that hotel prices are rising.
In a huge global survey, hotel website Hotels.com has gathered information from more than 140,000 hotels in 85 countries to find out how much we are paying for a room.
It was found that worldwide room rates have gone up by 4 per cent in the past year, but fear not. There are still plenty of bargains to be had. Read more »
