The Rio de Janeiro Carnival, the world-famous and wonderfully flamboyant Brazilian festival, once again failed to disappoint partygoers this year.
The four-day event is known the world over for being one of the best parties you can get a ticket for. But the Rio carnival is not all about fancy costumes, samba rhythms and blow out budgets though; it’s also a fierce competition for the hottest samba schools around to showcase their stuff on the battleground in Rio’s carnival parade.
The weird and wacky parades are inspired by anything from Sherlock Holmes to Snow White. Here are some of the best bits from this year’s Rio de Janeiro Carnival.
